Hoboken by TRAIN!!

This afternoon we took Kai to Hoboken by train. He gets very excited when we go see Daddy get off the train, so we knew he would love actually getting on it. He could have spent hours at the train station--he finds so many things fascinating! He got so excited when the train came (see video), and looked like he was in shock when we got on it. Kai really enjoyed the ride, looking out the window, snacking, walking up and down the aisle, and yelling "hi" at people from behind (he scared some crazy old guy to death). In Hoboken we enjoyed walking by the water, taking in the beautiful city view and playing with other kids (see video, in which Kai says "sharing sharing" while pushing the other kid's hands away).

(sorry for video orientation at the beginning!)

Jordan's Birthday Party

Kai was invited to a birthday party for a friend from his class. The party was at Kids U., which we've never taken him to. It was a great place! Kai stayed safe for the most part with the baby playground, and mostly stayed away from the big kids climbing equipment (he would go in and right away change his mind). It was really nice that most of the kids were around his age... Since they served pizza and cupcakes (which he can't have), I brought him his own food. He said "pizza pizza" so I peeled the cheese off, but he wasn't really interested. Can't blame him, really. He had a great time!

Ridgewood Park

The three of us "braved" the chill last weekend and took Kai to the park in Ridgewood to see the geese and play on the playground there (hey, there were 3 young kids there who were playing without any supervision and when asked they said their parents were in the car because they were too cold!). He finally enjoyed the slide and loved looking at the dogs playing in the dog park.

VIsit to South Jersey

Last weekend the 3 of us drove down to South Jersey to celebrate Keith's birthday... On Saturday Kai hung out with Cate and Wally while we went to the Phillies-Mets game with Keith's dad. We had a great (sweaty) time at the game, and Kai had a great (sweaty) adventure himself! He visited Great Pop-Pop Kovack and played with his dog, Jesse!

Israel!!

Kai and I had an amazing time in Israel. It was way too short, but better than nothing! Kai enjoyed getting to know his family there, and playing with his nephews. Everyone seemed to enjoy having him (and me!) around as well... It was 9 days of jetlag and some fever and coughing, but we managed to get around it and have lots of fun! We hope to go back again soon...
