snow up to our knees

I can't say that Kai actually enjoyed the snow... but he tolerated it for a little while while I tried to build a snowman for him. He kept shaking his head "no." It wasn't so cold, which was nice, but he kept getting snow in his eyes and was blinded by the brightness. You can see that when he was standing in the area that has not been shoveled, the snow comes up to his knees!

Purim party

Kai went to his first Purim party today! He dressed up in his dog costume, and partied like a big boy! It was held at an Israeli daycare (one he doesn't attend), and they had a fun Purim circle time, a parade, mask-making and Ozney-Haman (Purim cookies). It was so much fun, an I was so happy he got to experience this great kids holiday!

Kai's first haircut!!!

After weeks of thinking about it, Kai finally decided to get a haircut today! We went to Rita's Snips for Pips in Ridgewood, where he sat in an airplane, watched Elmo and played with little toys. At first he didn't really want to sit in the airplane, but he then got used to it and didn't seem to mind the lady cutting his hair. Ima got a little emotional, but Kai was a trooper! We were very happy with the results! He still has his beautiful curls, just a little less crazy looking, and soooo cute! When we left, Kai received a "First Haircut Certificate," a picture of him with his new haircut, and a little bag with some curls!

Indoor stuff of Winter...

We bought Kai a Mr. Potatohead and he enjoyed playing with it, imitating it, and wearing it!

Kai's Tata had the day off on Monday so we drive to the Newark museum to see the mini indoor zoo. To say it was mini would really be an exaggeration! It was a tiny room with animals you could hardly see. Kai then wandered off to the display about the history of money and made himself busy...

Kai's grandmom, Aunt Cate and Uncle Wally visited last weekend, and Kai was excited! He jumped (or thought he was jumping, that is), hid behind the couch (to be found!) and danced!

Brendan's Birthday party

Today we celebrated Brendan's first birthday! There was a musician for the kids, and he was a big hit. As Kai loves music and dancing, he was taking advantage and was "hands on" with the musician. Brendan was not a bad dancer himself!!

Video of Kai dancing:

Water Water Water!

Kai has started taking swimming classes on Saturday mornings, and last week was his first class. He was not a happy camper, and was scared and cried the entire class. The pics below are from last week. Today's class (from which we have no pics) was much better--he cried for the first 10 min, but then started enjoying himself much to our delight!

Gone are the (not so far away) days where Kai was afraid of bubbles in his bathtub. Now he LOVES them and asks for them every night. He also tries to drink the bath water!! (as you'll see in the video)
