Christmas

We had a quiet Christmas this year, just the 3 of us at home.  But we can't complain--it was really relaxing, and lovely to see Kai really experience it.  We had a nice dinner on Christmas eve, and then French toast in the morning. We then got to the task of opening presents...

Kai finding the presents!

Daddy helping Kai open presents...

A remote control car for toddlers.  Kai liked it until it started moving on its own and then he got scared and ran to Daddy!

Keith opening his U2 tickets present!

First snow

The snow that we got a few days ago was not Kai's first official snow, but it was the first time he was aware of it and got to play in it (or as he might see it, "was made to play in it"). He was a little nervous at first and kept shaking his head "NO."

Kai is finding new indoor activities now that it's too cold to go play outside.  He started drawing on a chalkboard Jenn got him for his birthday (but we just new opened it for him).  He also sometimes tries to eat the chalk...  He is finding new spots for hide and seek, and is learning how to draw with crayons! (although sometimes all he wants to do is take them out and put them in the box).

(Kai's first chalk drawing!)

Hanukkah

Kai spent first night of Hanukkah and Saba at Savta's house (Keith was still in the hospital). He enjoyed the sufganiot and the candles :)

Santa Train Ride

OK, sorry this post is waaaaay overdue. Most people have probably seen these pics on facebook anyway. I've been busy, what can I say!
Below are pictures from our Santa Train Ride, as well as some Hawthorne parade picture..
Kai was pretty much afraid of all the big characters!!

Blowing water bubbles

Kai discovered how to blow bubbles in his water, and couldn't stop laughing. This was going on way beyond the video--it was so hilarious!!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a wonderful first Thanksgiving at our new house with our family.  We watched a little parade in the morning on TV, and Kai rocked out to the songs and dances...  Keith made his first turkey, and it came out absolutely beautiful and yummy.  I made a perfect apple pie (if I may say so myself!)--it was beautiful and delicious (a keeper recipe for sure).  Kai enjoyed Keith's homemade cranberry sauce, "riding" his tricycle, laughing and entertaining everyone who clapped for everything he did.  I don't know who was the biggest star--Our chef Keith, or our entertainer Kai.

Videos

Kai pulling tissues out of a box like bunnies out of a hat, and wiping his mouth (with tissues, not bunnies!)

Kai going crazy with his favorite blanket...

Kai's adventures at 13 months

Uncle Eyal visited our new house (and Kai's fabulous room), and read Kai his favorite book, Goodnight Moon.

Kai eating a sandwich with chocolate spread (thanks to Saba and Savta).  It made him happy! (and crazy!)

Grandmom and Michael visited, and Michael played music for Kai.  Kai really enjoyed it, and even tried to play himself  :)

Kai playing in our backyard during the Indian summer days we had in November!

Kai saying no

sorry this video, again, is sideways... one day I'll remember not to do that. This is a video of Kai not only shaking his head no (which he's been doing for a while), but actually meaning NO.

Halloween

Kai is finally old enough to put on a costume this year, and he looked soooo adorable in it! He dressed up as a dalmation, because he loves dogs. The costume was a little hot for our little sweaty baby, so he didn't keep it on too long, but we took some pictures at home before daycare. At his daycare they had a big parade of all the kids, and Kai's age group was taken by buggy. He did great until he spotted me, and he was also really sweaty at this point.

really getting into the puppy part!
