July 4th Weekend

We all headed to Riverton for their 4th of July parade. It was a pretty big event for such a small town! On the way we stopped at Grandmom and Michael's house, where Kai had tons of fun with Maggie the dog (see video). He seems to really enjoy animals. The next day we took our seats on Main Street and watched the parade. Kai enjoyed the commotion, and even took a little nap on Daddy's lap. In the evening we watched the boat race on the river, and despite all the people Kai had the best view! Kai ended this long day at Mary's house, enjoying a little swing with Ima. (Daddy and Ima went out to Chris and Debbie's house to watch fireworks after Kai went to sleep--thanks to Pop Pop's babysitting skills!)

9 Months Well Visit

Kai visited Dr. Rosen yesterday for his 9 Months checkup. His slight ear infection is gone, and Dr. Rosen said he looked good! He now measures 30.75 inches long (above 99th percentile), and weighs 20 lbs 13 oz (just slightly above average for his age group). Looks like all of that food he's inhaling is going straight to his height, not too much to his tummy! (wish that was the case for me...). He also got his monthly vaccine and didn't cry too much (the puffs made it all better!).

Here is a video of Kai cracking up. We realize he's not always going to like our kisses as much as he likes them now, so we're taking full advantage!

Busy Week--Kai at 9 months

The Wilhelms visited from Atlanta, and the kids had fun playing together. Isabelle loved entertaining Kai and making him laugh. At some point he got so excited, he jumped on her and knocked her down! Before bedtime Kai shared his bathtub (not too happily I must admit) with Andrew...

Kai on the day he turned 9 months old! It was a challenge getting a picture where Kai wasn't moving the sign!
Over the weekend we went to the Palisades mall. Kai kept trying to grab our food even after he finished his own lunch. We were hoping the carousel would be open, but it was not there anymore! :( Kai got his own Elmo which made him happy!

This morning Kai and Ima drove down to visit Allison and her puppy, Biscuit. We didn't get a chance to take a picture of Kai with Biscuit because sweet Biscuit was a bit over excited about meeting a person his size... We also took a dip in the pool--Brrr...

Our 4 Year Anniversary!

I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures--they could have been great, but we forgot the camera at home!
We had a GREAT family day today, celebrating our wedding anniversary and the rare appearance of the sun! We took Kai to Van Saun Park, where he saw lots of animals, and was excited to point at some of them. After going around the park, we all got on the little park train (Kai's first time), and he was so happy and smiley. It was so much fun to see him enjoy everything, notice things, and appreciate them! We then drove to Whole Foods and had lunch, while Kai was busy smiling at a little baby girl in the next table... We tried to keep him awake on the way home, but he had had enough excitement for one day, and fell asleep. We are looking forward to more fun outdoor days this summer.

Various June

Trip to Nyack last weekend

Watching the geese eat

Playing with a new toy in the morning...

Helping Daddy make dinner in the kitchen...

Below are some videos...

Kai watching Grover--Keith discovered he really enjoys him in particular!

Kai eating watermelon--just a cute video.

We finally caught Kai saying his first word, which is "OR" (means "light" in Hebrew). He loves saying it and pointing to the light!

Kai seems to understand the meaning of "jump" and he LOVES to jump anywhere, anytime. I see a trampoline in his future!

Kai being silly & waving bye!

Here is a video of Kai making crazy raspberries on demand!  What an accomodating baby...  :)
At the end I asked him to wave bye bye, and totally didn't think he was going to do it, but he did!  The waving is a new thing--just a couple of days old.

More May

Kai is getting so big!  He is now 8 months old (wow!) and can crawl fast, pull up to standing on his own (scary!), almost climb one step into the kitchen, feed himself some finger foods(see video), and find Picabu (our cat) and the light above when you ask him where they are (in Hebrew).  He's got a good sense of humor and makes us laugh on a regular basis.  He has been going to daycare for over a month now, and although he has some attachment issues at the moment, he likes his teacher and starting to get used to things...

Keith and I got away for a night in Atlantic City--we had fun shopping at the outlets, having dinner at The Melting Pot (yummy fondue), gambling our $30 away, and sleeping in the next morning!
